1. The short version
This page covers cookies and browser storage used by the product. Sign-in, language selection and practice preferences use different technologies. Their presence and lifetime depend on how you use the site and your browser settings; optional integrations also depend on deployment configuration.
2. pt_session — your sign-in
pt_session is a signed session token used for authenticated features. It contains account identifiers, email, role and session information; it does not contain your password. It is httpOnly, SameSite=Lax and Secure in production, with a fourteen-day lifetime. Signing out removes it. Blocking it prevents signed-in features.
3. NEXT_LOCALE — your language
NEXT_LOCALE remembers the language you select. It holds a locale code rather than an account identifier. Its lifetime follows the site’s language configuration and browser settings. Removing it returns the site to language detection or the language in the page URL.
4. papertrade-theme is local storage, not a cookie
papertrade-theme remembers light or dark mode; papertrade-demo-v1 stores demo balance, positions, orders and history. Other browser storage can remember watchlists, chart settings, annotations, workspace layout, onboarding, export preferences and pending command identifiers.
Some notification or temporary interface state uses local or session storage. Local data usually remains until cleared; session storage normally ends with its browser tab. Clearing site data can remove unsynchronized demo progress and preferences.
5. Third parties
When configured, Cloudflare Turnstile loads an anti-abuse check on registration, password-recovery and support forms. When configured, Sentry collects error and performance diagnostics. Current Sentry configuration disables session replay and default personal-data collection; that does not mean diagnostics contain no technical information.
Cookies and similar storage are subject to purpose-specific rules under applicable law. Additional optional tracking requires appropriate disclosure and controls.
6. Managing cookies and changes to this page
Use your browser’s site settings to view, block or delete cookies and storage. Deleting the sign-in cookie signs you out; deleting browser storage can erase demo progress, chart drawings and saved layouts. Demo reset controls clear the associated demo state.
