How the liquidation price is calculated

Liquidation happens when the mark reaches the level where your loss has consumed the position margin down to the maintenance buffer.
The formula
With a maintenance margin rate (mmr) of 0.5% the engine uses: long liquidation = entry × (1 − (1 ÷ leverage) × (1 − mmr)), and short liquidation = entry × (1 + (1 ÷ leverage) × (1 − mmr)). The ticket shows this value before you submit, and the position row shows it afterwards.
Example: a long on BTCUSDT at 64,000 with 20x leverage liquidates around 64,000 × (1 − 0.05 × 0.995) = 60,816.
What a liquidation does
- Closes only the position that hit its level. Other positions and your free balance are untouched.
- Settles at the liquidation price and charges the usual closing commission.
- Writes a LIQUIDATION row into your trade history so the wallet history explains the balance change.
Avoiding surprise liquidations
- Set a stop-loss inside the liquidation level so you exit on your terms.
- Lower leverage instead of lowering margin if you want more room.
- Remember that funding payments and commission reduce the buffer over time.
While a quote is delayed the engine freezes: stop-loss, take-profit, liquidation and funding are not applied until fresh data arrives.
