Stop-loss, take-profit and closing a position

Exit levels can be set at entry or edited later, and you can close a position fully or partially at the current mark.
Valid levels
- Long: stop-loss must sit below your entry, take-profit above it.
- Short: stop-loss must sit above your entry, take-profit below it.
- A level on the wrong side of entry is rejected when you submit it.
Editing levels on an open position
Open the Positions tab in the dock, edit the stop-loss or take-profit on the row and save. Clearing a field removes that level. Changing an exit level never changes your margin or your entry price.
How exits are triggered
The engine checks open risk on a schedule (about every 15 seconds) and again whenever you load your desk. A triggered stop-loss or take-profit closes the whole position at the level you set, not at the mark that tripped it.
Closing manually
Use the close action on the position row. You can close the whole position or part of it; a partial close releases the same share of the margin and books the matching share of the profit or loss. Closing needs a fresh quote, so it is blocked while data is delayed.
Commission is charged twice: once when the position opens and once on every close, including partial closes and liquidations.
