Market orders fill at the current mark; limit orders rest until the mark reaches your price and lock their margin meanwhile.
Market vs limit
| Market | Limit | |
|---|---|---|
| Fills | Immediately at the current mark | When the mark reaches your price |
| Needs a fresh quote | Yes | Yes, to be accepted |
| Works while the session is closed | No | Yes, it rests until the session reopens |
| Margin | Deducted on fill | Locked while pending, released if cancelled |
A limit order whose price is already through the market fills straight away rather than resting — a buy limit above the mark, or a sell limit below it, behaves like a market order.
Ticket fields
- Amount — the margin you allocate to the position, in virtual USD. Your available balance must also cover the opening commission.
- Leverage — 1x to 50x. Position size is amount × leverage, so 500 at 20x controls 10,000 of notional.
- Limit price — only on the Limit tab; the level at which the order should fill.
- Stop-loss / take-profit — optional exit levels, validated against your entry side.
- Notional, est. commission, liq. price — a live preview, recalculated as you change the inputs.
Cancelling a pending order
Open the Orders tab in the dock below the chart and cancel the row. The margin the order reserved returns to your available balance immediately.
